This is the first step in the right direction. While no words or prayer can guarantee your salvation, your genuine faith in Christ's finished work does.
You don't have to know everything about Christianity to be saved, but you must know who Jesus is, who you are in relationship to Him, and what ultimately gives you that salvation.
Who Jesus is (God):
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [...] And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us." - John 1:1, 14
"For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily." - Colossians 2:9
Who you are (a sinner):
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." - Romans 3:23
"As it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one." - Romans 3:10
What gives you salvation (Grace not works):
"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God." - Ephesians 2:8
"Even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—" - Ephesians 2:5
The beautiful thing about God is that He meets you where you are and takes you where you need to be. Every relationship takes time to develop, God doesn't expect you to "get it all together" overnight. Genuine faith in Christ will result in a transformed life that happens by the daily renewal of your mind.
"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." - Romans 12:2
